What's My Vocal Range?

Sing low, sing high, and get the range you can actually sustain.

Breath and squeaks don't count. Only clear notes held long enough enter your range.

Ready when you are

Free · private · no sign-up

This test listens for steady musical notes, not every sound your microphone hears. Your audio stays on your device, and no account is required.

Four clear steps

  1. Warm up gentlyUse an easy hum or lip trill. Stop if anything feels strained.
  2. Find your low noteStart at a comfortable pitch, then move down slowly and hold each note clearly.
  3. Find your high noteMove upward without forcing. The test counts only sustained, clear notes.
  4. Read your resultCompare your confirmed range, octave span, estimated voice type, singers, and songs.

Good questions, honest answers

How does this test avoid impossible high-note results?

A note must stay clear and steady for at least 300 milliseconds before it counts. The detector also rejects implausible frequencies and common octave mistakes, so a breath, click, squeak, or brief harmonic should not become a fake F8 result.

Is my microphone audio uploaded or recorded?

No. Your browser processes short audio buffers on this device to estimate pitch. The site does not upload, record, or store audio. Only completed note-range results may be saved locally in your browser when history is available.

Does vocal range determine my voice type?

Not by itself. Range gives a useful estimate, but trained classification also considers tessitura, tone, passaggio, comfort, and technique. We label close matches as estimates and show borderline results instead of pretending two endpoint notes provide a final verdict.
